GAME DESCRIPTION
TO THE EDGE OF THE WORLD is a game using CAVE and Vive Tracker
This interactive experience is designed to create an immersive story about an epic journey on the sea. The story tells three sailors (Captain Fleming, Ervin, Chad) try to find the edge of the world. They are best friends at first, and they trust they can find the edge of the world. On their way, they meet enemies, sea monsters, but they fight together and enhance their friendship. However, they has pass the same lighthouse for so many times, one of the sailors called Ervin start to doubt Fleming and they have a quarrel...
An experience on the sea where you play as a sailor embarking on an epic adventure with your captain inside the CAVE Room.There are improv actors on the stage designed to enhance the experience.

PLATFORM

CAVE (Room surrounded with 3 projector screens with a motion platform on the floor)which is an immersive virtual reality environment where projectors are directed to three of the walls of a room-sized cube. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_automatic_virtual_environment)

VIVE Tracker: We use 2 VIVE trackers in these project.

Programmer
I took responsibility for implementing the gameplay development, like NPC behaviors, Game manger, Animation etc. Assisting another programmer to do research on cave and vive tracker

Technical Artist
Making particle systems like rain, fog, lightning effects. Writing shader graph to make water, thunder.

Producer
I designed the schedule for each teammate and kept our progress on pace. I coordinated the daily stand-up meeting, arranged weekly meetings with instructors, gave summary from their feedback on time and arranged any thrifting matters we needed. I made sure everything is in progress and everyone is clear about our progress.

Interaction: An experience on the sea where you play as a sailor embarking on an epic adventure with your captain inside the CAVE Room.

Movable platform

the motion platform will sway like a real boat.

The pistons of the platform were individually indexed and extensions were set directly via voltage. We built a visualizer Gizmos for the platform, which would automatically sync its orientation and extension of the platform pistons.

VIVE Tracker
-
ViVE tracker placed on the hat, it can track the position of the player's head. Through the VIVE tracker, we can get the player's current position, so that the CAVE screen view can be adjusted by player's movement

Another vive tracker is tied to the sword, when the player swings the sword, the screen will appear Sword slash, the game objects will be interactive
